APPLICATION

BURY CABLE 6381Y provides single core connections for switchgear, telecom power supplies, control equipment and distribution cabinets. A Class 5 bare copper conductor, TI1 PVC insulation and TM1 PVC sheath suit protected fixed wiring in equipment rooms and panels. Select 450/750V within the stated 1.0-35 mm² band, or 600/1000V from 50 mm², together with the conductor size and installation conditions.

Cable Construction

  • - Bare copper conductor

  • - Stranding to BS6360 CL-5 or IEC60228 CL-5

  • - PVC insulation Type TI1 to BS7655

  • - PVC sheath Type TM1 to BS7655
    oxygen index> 30%
Meets requirements for flammability as required by BT specification M231

Sheath/Core Identification

  • Blue (Blue), Grey (Grey), Green/Yellow (Green/Yellow), Brown (Brown), Special colours to order

Technical Characteristics

  • - Working voltage: 1.0mm^2 to 35mm^2 - 450/750V
    50mm^2 and above - 600/1000V

  • - Minimum bending radius: up to 50 mm^2 : 3xoverall diameter,
    70mm^2 and above: - 4xoverall diameter

  • - Operating temperature: -15o C to +70o C

  • - Insulation resistance: 10 MΩxkm

  • - Flame retardant: IEC 60332.1, BS4066 Part 1

KEY FEATURES

  • Class 5 bare copper construction for routing and termination in fixed equipment wiring.

  • PVC insulation and a separate PVC outer sheath, with matching core and sheath colour choices.

  • Size-dependent working voltage and an operating temperature range of -15°C to +70°C.

SELECTION NOTES

  • Choose the conductor cross-section for circuit load, route length, voltage drop and the connection hardware used in the cabinet.

  • Plan minimum bending radii of 3 times overall diameter up to 50 mm² and 4 times overall diameter from 70 mm².

  • Specify the required colour identification, lengths and packing. Use green/yellow identification for its intended protective-conductor function in the circuit design.

FAQ

Which equipment uses 6381Y cable?

Telecom power supplies, switchgear, control panels and distribution cabinets use this cable for protected fixed single core connections.

What are the insulation and sheath materials?

TI1 PVC insulation surrounds the Class 5 copper conductor, with a separate TM1 PVC outer sheath.

How does conductor size affect working voltage?

The stated 1.0-35 mm² band is 450/750V, while sizes from 50 mm² are 600/1000V.

Which colour combinations are listed?

The listed matching sheath/core colours are blue, grey, green/yellow and brown; special colours can be ordered for the specified circuit identification.

How should cabinet routing be planned?

Allow the specified bending radius, suitable cable support and terminals compatible with Class 5 copper. Coordinate cable diameter with the entry and termination space.
